DIY party ring biscuits

DIY party ring biscuits

There is probably nothing that screams party to me more than a party ring biscuits. I think they are a total classics! I thought it might be fun to make my own version of these iconic treats for Sophia’s upcoming birthday party. The recipe is the same as for any sugar cookies. Then all you need is a cookie cutter to make their distinctive shape. You can either use a donut hole cookie cutter, or a regular round cookie cutter with a smaller cutter to remove the centre of the biscuit. Finally you can get creative with decorating them with varying pastel colour icing and sprinkles!

RECIPE

Ingredients

  • 8oz Salted butter, softened
  • 4oz Caster sugar
  • 10oz All-purpose flour, sifted
  • Icing sugar as required
  • Food colouring

    Method

    1. Cream together the butter and sugar
    2. Mix in the flour until it forms a dough
    3. Roll out the dough and cut biscuits with one large hole and a smaller central hole (or use a donut shaped cookie cutter)
    4. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 175 degrees C for 8-10 minutes
    5. Allow the biscuits to cool
    6. Decorate!
